Tilly’s Inc.

Tilly's Inc.  -  TLYS  .  NYSE

This is what I thought in March 2020 when I first bought the stock...

Tilly's Inc. owns and operates a chain of 240 teen-focused apparel, footwear and accessory stores spread across the United States. At the average purchase price of $4.03, this company had a trailing 12 month p:e ratio of 5.3 and was trading below tangible book value. They had been consistently profitable and were expanding their store footprint gradually while also investing in the e-commerce side of their business. While the fallout from the spreading coronavirus pandemic was sure to be significant, the company had a sufficient store of cash on its balance sheet that I thought it could weather the coming storm and emerge intact on the other side. In fact, at $3.71 per share, the company's cash holdings represented almost 100% of the purchase price.
